rockclimber Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 I am using an iPad Pro and it is indicating that the Affinity Designer data and documents are consuming 143 GB of space which is not possible since my ipad only has 128 GB of storage. This issue has also made it appear that my icloud storage limit has been exceeded so that I can no longer backup my ipad without purchasing more space. Quote

Yes this is an ongoing issue which will hopefully be fixed at some point. Do you save your projects outside the app or is everything still stored in sandbox (all files visible on Project screen)? Something like, if you save a file, and then make some changes to it, and save under a different name, the new file only stores the delta difference with the original file. So it takes very little physical space, but the OS reports and counts the full size of both files. rockclimber Posted February 20, 2022 Author Posted February 20, 2022 Thanks Walt, this could be. However, it seems peculiar to Designer as my other apps such as Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, Shaper3d, and even Affinity Photo seem to be OK. My largest files are only about 25 MB, and I only have a few of these. I think I saw a suggestion from a few years ago to delete Designer, and reload, but I worry about losing things. Thanks again for your input. Quote

Thanks again for your input. You're welcome. It will help avoid losing things if you make sure you have saved your work outside the sandbox area. You'll also need to keep or export brushes, assets, etc. before you reinstall. DM1 Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Also note that deleting the app deletes the local storage folder. If stored locally you would need to move the folders contents.🙂 walt.farrell 1 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
