Interior Book Design Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 To my mind, the preflight function is overzealous. Spelling mistakes shouldn't even create warnings. Spelling check is done by my colleagues who do the copy editing/proof reading. It should be done in a word processor, not in a DTP app. Therefore, I would like to get rid of those annoying warnings for good! How can I do that? I know that I can create my own profile and that I can create even categories. But that means I have to choose this profile/category first. For me, this is one click to many. I want it out of the box, by default. Is this possible? Maybe by somehow (but how?) changing the settings of the Default category? Can I break the habit of always creating warnings in regard to (alleged) spelling mistakes? Thanks! Quote

You can edit the content of the Default profile just as you can any other. Open the Preflight panel, and to the right of the Profile name you'll see a Preferences/Setting icon (aka burger menu). Click it, and choose Edit Profile. Interior Book Design Posted February 19, 2022 Author Posted February 19, 2022 I know, but after editing the Default profile the name of the Profile switches to <Custom> and next time Default shows the same, unwanted behavior, again. I want it once and for all, Walt! Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Thanks for that clarification. I can see why you find that annoying and want an improvement. One possible workaround in the meantime: create a document Template to use for future documents, and set it's Preflight options as you want them. Then start new documents with that Template. Interior Book Design Posted February 19, 2022 Author Posted February 19, 2022 That, in fact, is a very good workaround, thank you! Quote

Old Bruce Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Get to the <Custom> setting, Edit the preset, Make a Preset. I think that is how I did it. Seems backwards or just counter intuitive.
