garrettm30
I am finally getting around to posting about some input consistencies that I keep coming across. I will use the Characters Studio as the model, but similar issues for the same kind of inputs would be true elsewhere in the software. I have demonstrated these issues in a video below, but here is a summary. To save time, by {left inputs}, I mean kerning, tracking, baseline, and leading override; by {right inputs}, I mean shear, horizontal and vertical scaling. 0:44 - Studios can be scrolled using the scroll gesture on a trackpad but not with the scroll wheel on a mouse. 1:25 - {Right inputs} can step through the values by scrolling with a mouse but not with a trackpad. The {left inputs} can be stepped through with scrolling by either kind of control device. 2:40 - Stepping through the values of the {right inputs} with the arrow keys on a keyboard results in selected text immediately updating to the new values, but doing the same to the {left inputs} will not cause the text to update until focus moves away from the input in some way. 3:52 - Stepping through values with the keyboard in the {right inputs} can result in duplicated history actions, especially when the studio is docked. Note that I have seen these issues in both the release version as well as the latest betas that I have seen. input_inconsistencies.mp4 A_B_C, Old Bruce, Puck and 1 other 2
Staff Lee D Posted February 21, 2022 Staff Share Posted February 21, 2022 Thanks for the report, I've logged the inconsistency with the options on the Character panel with the developers to look into. The other issue regarding the mouse/trackpad scroll is by design.
