ahnay Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 I followed the video below. Selected the layer, went to the menu option 'layer' then down to 'new adjustment'. clicked the pink dot, and then the picker, picked the dark pink color in the image, and then moved the dials. Nothing happened. Why? Ive tried to upload the file three times, i give up. Its just a .jpg image doesnt change colors.afdesign Thank you. The file is enclosed.doesnt change colors.afdesign Quote
Staff stokerg Posted February 17, 2022 Staff Posted February 17, 2022 Hi @ahnay, It's working fine here. Looks like your afdesign file failed to attach, could you reattach it? Quote

Its just a .jpg image Maybe just try dragging the jpg file into the 'Drag files here to attach' area at the bottom of the reply window? Also try the same thing with your saved afdesign file if you have not already tried that.... BTW, the picker works for me like it does in the video. I tried like 100 times to upload and it kept failing. Telling me it worked for you doesnt help it work for me. lol. Obviously it works, as it worked in the video, but there must be something missing from the video as it did not work for me. Get it? So, yeah.. there must be some step missing at the start of the process. Did he/you do something to the .jpg before you tried that? How did you bring the .jpg into affinity? Is it still a .jpg? or is it something that affinity changed it to? rasterized? pixeled? i dont know. I just brought a .png or .jpg into affinity workspace by dragging it and watching the the 'black' not green ➕ to show and dropped it. It shows as a .png, or .jpg in the layer panel, not anything else. I was then able to tint it with another color using the color function and moving the wheel around. That worked. I have not tried the process in the video yet. Just sat down and reading my emails. Thank you very much, i really do appreciate the help. Quote

NotMyFault Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 I see two links to uploaded files in your first post, but when you click then the system says there are unavailable. This sometimes happens if you have uploaded the files successfully, but then inserted them and directly deleted them in the upload UI box before clicking save. Do not use delete. But there are other possible causes: The adjustment layer could be in the wrong position within the layer stack. It should be directly above the image layer, and no other layers should be in the file (just to keep it simple today) The layer opacity could be reduced (happens by accident if klicking numbers on the keyboard, and the input focus is not at the right place). I use ctrl-number a lot to zoom, and if the ctrl is missed this could happen. so don’t give up, I’m sure we can figure out what went wrong soon. firstdefence Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 I have found that if there is a problem attaching a file to a post, zipping it up generally works, I use this workaround when I get -200 errors or if it seems like it goes into a forever load. Old Bruce Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 My 2¢... somedays I cannot add images. Rare but it happens. I suspect it is down to me having messed up with web surfing and a simple Quit of Safari and a machine restart works. But somedays it is not just me and my machine but the forum, on those days many many people, not just me, have problems adding images. ahnay 1 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear. Ron P. Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 I haven't experienced this, possibly because I use Firefox and not Safari. I don't know, but a possibility.
