rogershuff Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 I have searched for this (maybe I missed it). Option+mouse drag duplicates but for me it is imprecise. In InDesign, Shift+option+a cursor key (no mouse) duplicates an object and offsets the dupe from the original but keeps its alignment with the original (either vertically or horizontally, depending which key I use). I use this a lot to duplicate (say) a line that I'd like to align with another without any mousing. Maybe there's another key combo I'm missing to do this? walt.farrell Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 Cmd+drag will duplicate. Opt+drag will duplicate and ignore Snapping. Cmd+J will duplicate. At that point, you could use the Move Tool and the arrow keys to move the object. There's another current topic that indicates that Shift+drag will maintain horizontal or vertical alignment (so, perhaps, Cmd+J then Shift+drag?) but I haven't played with it yet. rogershuff Posted February 16, 2022 Author Posted February 16, 2022 Thanks, Walt. That would work - just one extra keystroke. Helpful. Quote Roger Shufflebottom www.avid-companion.co.uk
