I had a problem the other day which was because I hadnt checked  the "show context toolbar" in view settings. Now I've lost the status bar....the one on the bottom when you select a tool - for example the clone brush - that tells you to alt click to select an area. Help!

Hi @jeffers,

It's possible that you've used the 'Toggle UI' shortcut accidentally, as I believe this is the only way to hide the status bar.

To return this please navigate to View > Toggle UI or alternatively use the TAB key.

I hope this helps :)

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

It's on by default, so probably as Dan C suggested you had accidentally toggled the complete UI via the Tab key, and then restored items piecemeal rather than just using Tab again.

Got it back thanks.  @ Walt - thinking about it - that is exactly what I did!

You're welcome.

I think that's a fairly common scenario when users don't know about Toggle UI. We frequently see questions about some UI element "X" being missing, and the temptation is to say "just use View > Show X" when the better answer is "Perhaps just press Tab again", as there is probably more than X missing that the poster just hasn't noticed.
