I gave a friend of mine a copy of affinity designer for Mac under my licence. At the time I assumed this was allowed as they don't use it commercially, but I never actually confirmed what the rules were on this. Can two people use the same affinity designer license? In what circumstances would this be allowed or not?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @VictorS. :)

The short answer is that what you’ve described is not allowed. The long answer is that other members of your household may use the apps for non-commercial purposes, but only on computers that are owned or controlled by you.

You can email affinity@serif.com to arrange the purchase of a redemption code, and then give the code and redemption instructions to your friend so that they can acquire a copy of the app which will be properly registered to them instead of you.
