_Andras_ Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Hi Team, In order to be able to export slices from a document with lots of artboards I have to use the “Force pixel alignment” feature from snapping, and place all artboards on a pixel position, otherwise the exported animation phases would not be aligned. I have learned it from a forum post… And using that feature makes it work properly. However - altough I suspect that this is because of how artboards were implemented on the documents - this is not an expected behavior. I should not need to align artboards on pixel positions, an artboard’s position should not affect the exported image of the artboard, it is meant - I think - to be like a mini document in a document. I would like that to be fixed and me not to worry about that. But if it is not feasible for whatever reason, please make it at least convenient to be able to switch that “Force pixel alignment”. Right now I have to go into the Dropdown->Snapping->Force pixel alignment->Done every time I want to switch it on or off. And I need to switch it as I do not want to force pixel alignment during drawing. Also turning off the snapping button on the bottom left, does not turn this pixel alignment off. Which is again not what I would expect. But even if it would work correctly, I still need snapping a lot of cases just not with pixel alignment. I have version 1.10.19. Thanks, Andras Wosven 1 Quote
Wosven Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 It would be so simple if the left side (or right one when RTL will be implemented for documents, and the document set with this setting) was always positioned with pixel alignement… or if when exporting artboards instead of the full documents, each one was set or calculate like if it was pixel aligned. The only exception for this — and I'm not sure it would help or is important to have blurry result —, is when exporting the full document as an image, as in the Export persona "Background" default.. Dan C Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Hi @_Andras_, Thanks for your report. This has been raised previously here on the Forums (see below link) and our team have confirmed this is By Design. However I do understand the frustration this can cause, and our developers are looking at ways to improve this in the future, without reducing the flexibility that Artboards can provide over a regular canvas. I hope this clears things up Quote
_Andras_ Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 Hi @Dan C, Yes I thought it will be the case, however there are still other issues with the pixel alignment not turning off even if snapping is turned off… basically the other half of my bug report about how inconvenient that is, even if we accept that Artboards were implemented in that way (which is acceptable as a first iteration / quick win, I understand that implementing it in a different way without these alignment issues would probably cost a lot more time). Anyway it is still better that we have this feature, I like it a lot. And the app as well Thanks for the answer. Quote
