Kim Barrett
When I create a Mask in AffinityPhoto it does not place the mask inside the highlighted layer. Instead the mask it created as a new layer above the intended layer. I've watched many of the training videos you offer and I can see the instructor hit the mask button and it pops nicely into the highlighted layer. The instruction manual also says that by default a mask will be created inside the highlighted layer. I cringe every time I have to drag a mask into it's intended layer, i use a lot of masks! Is there a setting somewhere that I have inadvertently turned off or something. I've searched everywhere and can't find anything on this problem. Can anyone help before I pull all my hair out
carl123
Your preferred setting in the Assistant Manager determines where the mask layer is added You can change it there telemax 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Kim Barrett
Oh Yeah….dancing in the streets. I turned the assistant off when it kept rasterising layers I didn’t want rasterized. Thanx so much. This has been driving me nuts!

You probably already know this but there are three places in the assistant where you can disable rasterizing vector layers without disabling the assistant itself. Kim Barrett
Yes, thanx, I figured that out. I haven’t use affinity in quite a while. There was nothing called “assistant” the last time I seriously used it. I though it was just annoying so I turn it off without really looking at it. Note to self: read the fine print. Actually, I am pretty sure it was there in the first commercial version, or maybe added in the second, but maybe not all the options were added until later?
