Komatös
Hello @Dor and welcome to the forums. In the Export dialogue window, select Groove Logo in the Area field. This exports only the artboard and its sub-layers. Dor
Hey @Komatös, Thanks for the reply, that is exactly what i did and still getting the extra space above and below... any other suggestions?
BofG
There's very little to go on with the images you posted. Can you share the actual Affinity file?
Wosven
Did you try duplication and converting to curves first? It's possible, if it's text, that the space is the leading of the font. Old Bruce
Dor
Hey all, They are all curves, please see the screenshots attached and the affinity file. I'm using Macbook pro (Monterey 12.1) SVG Export.afdesign
Old Bruce
You are exporting the Artboard(s). You can select the group and then export that group, rinse and repeat for each of the groups. Or... Try using the Export persona. and make a slice from the Groups and export those. Dor
OK I'm losing my mind here I tried in the past but tried again to export personas, both for PNG and SVG, PNG works perfect SVG is still giving me the extra space.. I attached the files and screenshots, Please Help!! Groove Logo.svg Easy Logo.svg
Old Bruce
Does your Layers panel in the Export Persona look like this? Note the odd looking export indicator in the Easy Logo and Black Logo layers. That means the thing is not going to be exported, but the normal looking export indicator in the Easy (Group) and Black (Group) means there will be slices to export. I managed to get "proper sized" PNG and SVG files from this. Meaning no extra space, just the words. v_kyr
Well as Old Bruce said, you've exported the whole Artboard size wide instead of just of the Easy group layer one ... The whole Artboard layer ... Just the Easy group layer on/from the Artboard ... The same then applies for the Export Persona here, thus make for example a slice of the grouped together Easy curves (which are part/sublayer of the Artboard), but not of the whole Artboard. - Aka ... The result will then be this ... Easy.svg Do the same for the other logo artboards, just build slices from their expanded sublayer groups! Dor
So actually this is exactly what I am trying to to, I am exporting multiple logos and I want to preserve the artboard size for all of them.. maybe that is not possible with SVG? Dor
I just tried to export just the logo and the same thing is happening with the extra space on the top and bottom, when opening @v_kyrfile it looks perfect. so something in me settings is off or I am. missing something on the export part.. v_kyr
18 hours ago, Dor said: @v_kyr do you have different settings? NOPE, the difference is that I only export the selection, thus the Easy (Group) selection and not the whole Easy Logo (ArtBoard). See the above Export Persona settings screenshots (above the second + third image in my post). To get the same with the default export menu, so without the Export Persona, I would have get the same result when exported this way here ...
