Old Bruce
Hi and Welcome to the forums @Dhanna2 My advice would really depend on what the text is. Buckeye gold coin and jewelry or Buckeye coin and gold jewelry or some other thing entirely. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.2 Affinity Designer 2.3.1 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Dhanna2
The text i am trying to get vertical would just be Buckeye Gold as we have other subsidiaries under that main name.
walt.farrell
So, are you looking for something like this, or something different? (And if so, what?) Wosven
Hi and welcome @Dhanna2 I would suggest rotating the full logo, and never using vertical text since it's the most difficult to read. Or it'll look like 2 logos, and that's not a good idea. Since your logo doesn't have any visual part but the small leaf, and is only different texts, the best option is to keep all together. @walt.farrell idea is good, but unless you're well know, the logo need the baseline. For other uses, like icons for web site or apps, perhaps you'll need to work on the leaf to get it reconizable in a round or small square (it should be easy, with the 2 colors and the shape). GarryP
In addition to the advice above, the “BUCKEYE” part can be easily made to read ‘vertically’ but the ‘gold’ part will be problematic. Western text is naturally written horizontally and the ascenders and descenders of the lower case letters don’t help in this case – see attached screen-grab (which uses the wrong fonts). As for “the wrong fonts”, I can’t help wondering why ‘Coin & Jewelry’ in the original logo uses a different font than ‘Buckeye’. GarryP
I don’t like any of my examples but, if I absolutely had to pick one, I would reluctantly go with a better version of the first one. The letters of ‘gold’ just don’t seem to go nicely together when vertical. However, I’m sure that a good artist would be able to make them work nicely, maybe with some ‘proper’ hand-drawn lettering. I quickly chose some fonts from my meagre collection which kind of had similar shapes to the originals to give me an idea of how the shapes fitted together; I’ve no idea how the OP’s logo came about. carl123
Where is this going to be displayed? On a billboard? Outside a shop? On a business card? You can't simply take your horizontal logo and magically make it vertical. Wosven
Think of your logo as the Coca-Cola or the Kellog's ones. They never use vertical text, because the whole logo is like an image, and not deconstructed as characters in some text line.
