So how would I do shading for different types or similar designs like these? And how would I do it so it doesn’t look so out of whack and goofy like a kid did it but more like an adult did it?

The techniques are identical. You need to learn to apply the basic technique (which I think has been explained) and then it should work for all those.

Yes but I have not figured out how to do shading when it comes to the curvy parts. That’s what I’m trying to get at. Or how to curve the shading so it fits nicely in the design

This is what I have so far

I duplicated the shape twice then selected them both and subtracted them. That’s how I got the shading. Now how would I do that for different designs like these?

Just try it, Josie! You might find that you like the first result (in which case, job done) but if not you can attempt to analyze what you dislike about it and/or you can ask for input from other users.

The same way as we did the cookie at the start of this thread, but using a heart shape instead of an ellipse: use a darker shade of pink for the main heart and then put a smaller and lighter heart on top, offsetting it to one side so that part of the darker heart underneath becomes visible for the shading.
