MikeFromMesa
Is there any way in APB to clone using one photo as the source location and another as the target location? Or, failing that, to clone from one layer to another? Or is it necessary to get "clever" and combine both layers/photos into a single one, then clone and then crop? Thanks. Staff MEB Posted December 8, 2015 Staff Share Posted December 8, 2015 Hi MikeFromMesa, In the context toolbar for the Clone Tool, there's a dropdown that lets you choose if you want to clone from the Current Layer (default), Current Layer & Below and Layers Beneath. As far as i know it's not possible to clone from another document. [EDIT 29 Dec 2015] It's possible to clone from one document to another. Check Andy Somerfield's post below for details.[EDIT] A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
MikeFromMesa
Thank you. I appear to have missed that. I did not even see the context menu.
Staff Andy Somerfield Posted December 9, 2015 Staff Share Posted December 9, 2015 You can go to the other document, go to the clone tool, Alt-Click to set a source point, then press the "Set Global Source" button. Then go back to your target document, choose the clone tool and set source to "Global". This should let you clone from one document to another. Hope this helps, Andy. MikeFromMesa
Yes, it does. What I had been doing was creating a new document and pasting both images into it. Then rearranging the layers so both parts that I needed were visible, flattening it and then cloning. This is much, much easier.
