Creating shaped text boxes

I am creating a hexagon shape with six triangles within.

I have tried using the triangle tool and with triangles created from the pen tool. Both have the same problem.

I want to create a shaped text frame in each triangle, with the top on the base of the triangle. But no matter what I do, the text box is created with the top at the point of the triangle.

Inverting the text also inverts the triangle.

It looks like you have flipped the triangle over vertically before you converted it to a text frame.
Try using the menu “Layer → Geometry → Add” before you convert the shape to a text frame.

After you have arranged your triangle use the Boolean Add to make the visual top the actual top.

Layer > Geometry > Add

Now add the text.

Thank you both, yes it works, but the logic in it escapes me entitely

It’s because you have flipped the shape.
You have said that you want the top of the shape to be at the bottom, so that’s what the software has done.
If you look at the text, if you don’t do the Geometry Add thing, you will see that the text is also reversed.
Having things this way means we can have it either way and are not confined to only having the text one way up/round.
