Old Dog Karen Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 I am a novice and this probably has a very simple answer. I am trying to blur the background of a single object that I want to be clearly visible in the foreground. I have added a layer & am working on it. I used the marquee tool to outline the object. What is the next step? No matter what I do, it either does nothing or erases the outline. The tutorials are good at explaining how to use the tool but not how to APPLY it. Quote
Staff stokerg Posted January 24, 2022 Staff Posted January 24, 2022 Hi @Old Dog Karenand Welcome to the Forums, Once you've outlined the object and closed the selection, you should see a series of 'marching ants' around you item and thats the selection applied. You can then invert that and use the Blur Filters to apply a blur A good video tutorial on blurring background is here Quote
