I saw the first post in the following thread.

I thought that if there were such a feature it would probably be in Affinity Photo.

I have hardly ever looked at Affinity Photo, but I decided to have a look.

I did not find anything, but I did have a try at using an oil brush.

Here is an image derived from what I produced. I had started with an A5 land scape canvas.

This morning I saved a copy of the .afphoto file and then I opened it up in Affinity Designer, blocked off some other attempt, moved the remaining picture to near the centre, then exported at one third scale both horizontally and vertically.

Probably not the best approach to draw an oil picture. Maybe starting in Affinity Designer would be better for any future attempts by me at producing an oil painting effect.
