I'll outline my workflow first, as that might make things easier to understand:

  1. I draw out lines with the pencil tool using my Apple Pencil with pressure sensitivity enabled on Designer for iPad
  2. I apply a vector brush to the lines in Designer for Mac
  3. I set the stroke weight to what I want (e.g. 5pt, 10pt, 20pt) in Designer for Mac

What I'm trying to do is consolidate steps 2 and 3 so that I can apply a brush at a given weight (i.e. thin [5pt], medium [10pt], thick [20pt]) whilst preserving the pressure profile for the stroke when I drew it with my Apple Pencil.  Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how to do this.  I've tried two things so far:

  • I have created styles that specify the brush and weight that I want and this works, but it overrides the pressure settings for the stroke.
  • I have tried to duplicate the vector brush and play around with the pixel size of the brush in its settings, but this changes the aesthetic of the brush rather than the stroke weight

I was wondering if there is a way to consolidate steps 2 and 3 whilst preserving the pressure profile.

Thanks for your help.

@ShaunPrI don't believe there is a better way for the three steps in your workflow. As we do have some logged issues in relation to pressure profiles being ignored/reset when strokes are edited.
