Plugin Behavior - Edit Does Not Open New Adjustment Layer

In Photoshop when using the Nik Collection plugins (or any plugin) they open as a new adjustment layer.

In Affinity Photo, AFAIK, when you invoke a plugin from the filter menu it operates on the active layer, e.g., Background.

Is here a way to force Affinity Photo to make a new adjustment layer when invoking a plugin?

If not, is there a feature request active for this functionality?

Layer > Duplicate or Layer > Merge Visible might do what you're looking for, @Lysander.

Welcome to Affinity Forums
No, the non-destructive features Nik offers in Photoshop are not available/supported in Affinity Photo. You have to manually duplicate the layer if you want to retain the original.
