As others have mentioned, this old format is no longer supported by the PDF Library that Serif has chosen to use for Affinity (and that they previously used with the older "Plus" products). The mainstream moves on and discards the older systems, yet some end users have a "if it's not broken don't change it" policy and so end up in a cul-de-sac through no fault of their own.
