Thomson Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Hi Affinity Team, unfortunately, publisher crashed while I was working on a multi-page document. The file can no longer be opened. Can you please help me? Operation System: macOS Big Sur 11.6.2 on an Imac 3,5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 Affinity Publisher: 1.10.4 File saved at: Local disc Many thanks for your support Thomas Quote
carl123 Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 If you upload the document to the forum someone will have a look at it for you If it is private you will need to wait for one of the Affinity support personnel to supply you with a Dropbox link Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.
Dan C Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Hi @Thomson, As requested above, we'll need a copy of this .afpub file to investigate further - can you please attach this here or upload it to the below link & reply here to let me know this has been done? https://www.dropbox.com/request/wWf2f47OkzCcKRLnYWdS Many thanks in advance Quote
Thomson Posted January 19, 2022 Author Posted January 19, 2022 Hi Dan, thank you for your message und your support. I have just uploaded the file. Best Regards Thomson Quote
Dan C Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 No problem at all, many thanks for providing this for me! It appears as though the corrupted element was the picture frame / linked .afphoto file on Page 54-55 "NOVA_ION6_14.afphoto". Since removing this Picture Frame, we have been able to recover the document, which I have returned to the email address that your forum account uses. Our team have requested a copy of this .afphoto file and the .IDML document that was used to create this .afpub file, so we can investigate further to the cause of this. Can you please provide these two files to the same link, provided above? Many thanks once again Quote
Thomson Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 Many thanks Dan, have just uploaded the files. Thanks again and best regards to the whole team Thomson Quote
Dan C Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 No problem at all, thanks for confirming that for me! I have passed these files through to our team internally for further testing - just to confirm did you receive the repaired file, and does this open and save correctly for you please? Quote
Thomson Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 Yes the file you repaired is now working fine again. Thanks again for your great help ! Dan C 1 Quote
