Designer crashes on Text->Show Character

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @ddev55.

I don't think I've seen reports of that before. Does it also happen if you use View > Studio > Character? Does it happen if you don't have that Text Frame selected?

What MacOS release are you running?

Hi @ddev55,

Thanks for your report and file provided!

I have downloaded and opened this file here and I'm unable to replicate this issue currently - the app is not crashing when opening the Character Studio using any method.

Can you please confirm, is this still happening within this document for you? Is this something you can reproduce with a new file?

I can see that half of your text is at a slightly smaller size (18pt compared to 22pt) and the smaller half has a Horizontal Scale of 80% applied through the Character Studio.

There should be no issues with having your text set like this, but to me this would indicate you were able to use this panel correctly at one point. Is that the case please? :)

IMPORTANT UPDATE for anyone still using V1 Affinity applications -

Versions 1.10.6 of the Affinity suite have been released, which resolve these .NET Windows crashes.

Please see the below link for information on how to download and install these updates:

With the Affinity updates installed, you can now un-hide any previous Windows updates you have paused and install these without concern.
