Pundamilia Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 I am primarily using Affinity Photo's Focus Merge function to create Focus Stacks. I have done about fifty of them without any problem. Today I went to create another Focus Merge having identified the files required in Finder (I am using a M1 Max MacBook Pro running Monterrey with an external Samsung T7 Touch). I started the Focus Merge and got to the New Focus Merge window which allows you to select the files. I have files stored on the Samsung external drive by date. I opened the 2021 folder in List View and was looking for the 2021-03-15 folder for my files. The folder doesn't appear! I can see the previous and subsequent dates folders. Even more curious, if I go to the Icon view or then Column view, the folder shows up, I can open it and the files are there. However, if I switch back to List View, the folder doesn't show up. I have tried this several times switching between the different view with the same result every time. I have even re-booted the computer to clear memory, but when I load Affinity Photo and try again, the same thing happens. I don't know what is unique about this particular folder as it has never happened before with any other folder. I can use the other views as a workaround, but I am concerned whenever files, much less folders disappear or are not visible. I am disappointed because I really like this software and consider it to be a phenomenal value. Any suggestions? Quote
Old Bruce Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 I am a little baffled by the Earlier in the list view. I would see Name in that column. Is this some OS difference? I am running OS 11.6.2 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Staff MEB Posted January 17, 2022 Staff Posted January 17, 2022 @Pundamilia, Welcome to Affinity Forums Are you able to see that folder using a regular Finder window with the same view mode rather than through the File > New Focus Merge command inside Affinity?@Old Bruce, What appears there depends on the option you have selected for Group Items (the icon on the left of the dropdown on your screenshot). Set it one of the Date options and you may see Earlier too there (depending on your files). Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

None of the other date options do. It is the same for the Open command, & works that way with the Open command in all apps, not just Affinity. This may be something that depends on the OS version -- in Catalina my Open & AP Focus Merge etc. windows have a different set of icons & a different layout in the header than what you show in your screenshot. For all apps, this is what I see across the top of the window: Notably absent are the 3 'traffic light' window control icons on the left.
