Could you be a bit more specific as to what you want to do?

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Is there an opposite to Paste Inside, ie Cut Contents?

If you don't want Edit > Cut (which exists), then I agree with Carl that we need more information :)

Hi @Andrew Smithers,
I'm not sure i understood you correctly but here's what I think you are trying to achieve: assuming you are considering a shape (circle for example) and want to remove the content it is overlapping (masking) you can set the Blend mode of that shape to Erase in the dropdown on top of the Layers panel. This however will rasterise all elements affected by the shape with than blend mode on export.

As an alternative you can add a vector mask to your design to show just the parts you want.  For example you can draw a rectangle covering the whole design and subtract that shape you want to cut from your design (for example a circle) from the rectangle then use the resulting shape as a mask for your design. Everything will be visible except the area inside the circle.

Here's an example where i used a vector mask to hide ("cut") part of the bottom shoe from the image:
