dradept Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Does anyone know if there is a way of changing the master page being used for the data being bought in when data merging? I have several photos that need to be set to landscape or portrait mode when merging. The CSV file has a field called orientation where I have text for either "Landscape" or "Portrait", which is how I have named the master pages. The only way I have handled this so far is to generate the new document and then manually edit each page assigning the appropriate orientation master page to each. If this is not available I will consider adding it to my wishlist for future additions. Quote
wonderings Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 would it not be simpler to edit those photos to be the orientation you want before the merge? Or are you talking a whole lot of pictures being merged? Quote

Not quite sure what you are doing at this stage but a Master Page can be assigned to multiple pages in one go, if that's useful Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Or are you talking a whole lot of pictures being merged? Thanks for the response. I am creating a book with multiple photos of different orientation and would like the page to be set differently depending on the orientation of each photo. This is not a major issue as I need to edit each page manually anyway, but wondered if there was a built in data merge property that could affect the orientation or master page being used. I will give that a go. Thanks. Quote
