Does anyone know if there is a way of changing the master page being used for the data being bought in when data merging?

I have several photos that need to be set to landscape or portrait mode when merging.

The CSV file has a field called orientation where I have text for either "Landscape" or "Portrait", which is how I have named the master pages.

The only way I have handled this so far is to generate the new document and then manually edit each page assigning the appropriate orientation master page to each.

If this is not available I will consider adding it to my wishlist for future additions.

Not quite sure what you are doing at this stage but a Master Page can be assigned to multiple pages in one go, if that's useful

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

would it not be simpler to edit those photos to be the orientation you want before the merge? Or are you talking a whole lot of pictures being merged?

Thanks for the response.

I am creating a book with multiple photos of different orientation and would like the page to be set differently depending on the orientation of each photo.

This is not a major issue as I need to edit each page manually anyway, but wondered if there was a built in data merge property that could affect the orientation or master page being used.

That's a good point, if I highlight all the portrait pages and set them all at once to landscape.

I will give that a go.

Thanks.
