Since Affinity Publisher doesn't have a built-in barcode generator, I wouldn't bother too much replicating the exact appearance of the reference image with only Publisher. You'd have to convert the barcode font to curves, manually add lines to the code, increase their length and realign the numbers accordingly. I would simply use one of the many online barcode generators, output the EAN13 code to PDF or SVG and import that into Publisher.

Anleitung siehe hier:

https://graphicore.github.io/librebarcode/documentation/ean13.html

The problem with Libre Barcode EAN13 Text when used in Affinity apps is that contextual alternate mode does not seem to be working properly for the font. It appears be able to create contextually only the latter part consisting of 5 digits, but the first part needs to be entered using the Glyph Panel (or by using a regular font with glyphs occupying the codepoints of the barcode font; or by using the "official" fallback glyphs):

In Word the font requires enabling of "Contextual Alternatives" formatting (from the Advanced Fonts options) but thereafter works reliably. In InDesign Adobe World Paragraph formatting needs to be applied (which seems to turn on HarfBuzz text shaping engine). It seems that there are some problems in Affinity apps with text shaping since in another thread Publisher failed to render properly Sanskrit glyphs in Arial Unicode MS (which worked fine in Word and LibreOffice Writer, and in InDesign when using World Paragraph formatting).

To make the use easier, the required glyphs could be returned by a script, or e.g. by a user-defined Excel function (macro), like this, where Libre Barcode EAN13 Text is used to automatically generate the barcode on a data merge definition page (here using additionally the question mark to generate the check digit).

Thank you for all your help!

I´ve tried the Libre Barcode EAN13 and had the same problems. And the fallback methode is not practical.

Also I´ve learned that scripture can´t work at a functional barcodde. It needs a barcode generator.

https://barcode.tec-it.com/de/EAN13, thank you Joe. This is for commercial use, too.

And also I found:

Thank you and be blessed!
