LostInTranslation
Hi, I need a to change set of ~45 images (diagrams) to four slightly different versions each and end up with 4 times 45 images (PNG) that need to be named to existing convention. the easiest way I can think of, create Artboards in Designer (or alternatively pages in Publisher) with one image each. Name those Artboards or Pages Make changes and export all at once while USING THE NAME of the Artboard/Layer AS FILENAME! I tried it with pages in Publisher first. Works in general, but the exported PNG all have given, incrementing filenames. Then I tried in Designer. It lets me only export ONE Artboard at a time (or ALL Artboards as a single image) and does NOT use the Artboard's name as filename. Is there any way to do this? Manually renaming later is not a good option. I may need multiple exports with changes and always renaming is not what I want. Ideas? Also note that if you have a multi-page Publisher document, and you Open it in Designer to get the Export Persona, you can only export 1 spread at a time. You can navigate between the spreads, but the Export process in the Export Persona will only handle 1 spread each time you ask it to Export Slices. Working in Designer from the start, using Artboards, will probably be more efficient for the described problem. True. One other note to be aware of: if you open a document created in AD that has any artboards in APub, it will offer to convert the Artboard(s) to spreads. If you make that conversion & save the file, unless you have set it to include the history, there is no easy way to reconvert the spreads back to artboards. So be careful about that if, for example, you want to use an APub-only feature with the document. Instead, there's now a button in the a Pages panel. Funny thing is, I never have even clicked on the Export Persona before. All exporting has been done only via the Export option in the main persona. It took me a second to figure it out from there, but yes, it works, and like a charm. Will do the whole thing in Designer now. You never stop learning.
