Infra red post processing workflow

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

General question with some background:

I'm new to Affinity, have little experience of Photoshop, and I'm relatively new to photography.

I'm keen to attempt some Infra red photography as the examples I've seen online are very interesting.

I have found plenty of instructions about how to process these images in PS, but I'm not always able to find the equivalent functions in Affinity Photo.

Does anyone have an example workflow using Affinity that they have used for this sort of work.

Many thanks in advance

Neil

Hi Neil

Welcome to the forums! :)

I have been looking at some of the tutorials for this and found that most of the steps are just the same in Affinity Photo. I have been using this tutorial as a guide and the only differences are;

Step 4: Hue and Saturation is called HSL adjustment within Affinity, this can be found under Layer>New Adjustment Layer> HSL Adjustment

Step 5: Affinity Photo does not have the Photo Filter, but you can achieve the same effect using Lens Filter (Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Lens Filter Adjustment) Just set the colour to blue and then continue as advised in the tutorial.

I hope this helps, if there's anything you're not sure about just let me know :)

J

CLiR heeft een geweldig IR bewerkings Panel dat je in Photoshop kan gebruiken ... maar alleen in Photoshop.  Kent iemand een alternatief van CLiR dat je met AP kan gebruiken?

A nice picture doesn't have to be a 'technical good' one, but 'different' from all other ones.

Mother earth is a source of life, not a resource.
