Changing layer of pinned images

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to pin an image (using Float) so that if the text changes position, the image will move with it. However when I do this, the image changes layers so that it is on top of the text, and I don't seem to be able to move it back underneath the text.

Here are screenshots before I pin the image:

And after:

It appears that pinning makes the image a child of the text layer, which is understandable except that for some reason I don't understand, child layers seem to always appear on top of the parent layer.

I can replicate the effect of having text on top by changing the blending mode of the image layer, but this seems like a pretty shonky workaround. How can I re-layer the pinned image so that it appears underneath the text?

Welcome to the forums @Dan Sumption

I don’t think you can pin anything ‘underneath’ the text it is pinned to.
It’s the same for all ‘child layers’, they cannot be displayed underneath their ‘parent layer’.
I think the Blend Mode (as you mention) is the only way to go here but the text will probably be rasterised upon export.
