K45P3R
I also wonder why affinity photo crashes when i try to open 10 or 15 simple .raw files… also i cant even zoom in or out without painfull freezes. i installed it again and double checked that i have an up to date version. It is not usable for that task i guess… but i really need a raw editor like one that comes from bridge.. its so strong..
Ron P.
Merry Christmas and Welcome to the forums @K45P3R What OS, Mac or Windows? I'm guessing you're referring to Affinity Photo (AP). If so, it is not designed to handle RAW files like Bridge or Lightroom for that matter. Those are Digital Asset Managers. AP, is designed to deal with one raw image at a time. While it is possible to use the File>New Batch Job to batch process raw files, it sill will only process one file at a time, through the Develop Persona. Not like Bridge or Lightroom, where you can perform adjustments to a file, then select multiple files and apply those processes to numerous files. Adobe's apps, use instructions maintained in their cataloging feature, then really only apply those instructions to all those files once you export. In AP, once you press the Develop button in the Develop Persona, it applies the adjustments to the raw file (bakes them), before it proceeds to the next file. Serif states their apps should not crash though, and are very interested in the Crash Dump Files to help diagnose why this is happening. You might also try opening the Preferences in AP, and going to the Performance tab. At the bottom there's a feature option called Hardware Acceleration. If it is checked (enabled), uncheck it and restart AP to see if that might help. Quote Affinity Photo 2.5..; Affinity Designer 2.5..; Affinity Publisher 2.5..; Affinity2 Beta versions. Staff stokerg Posted January 7, 2022 Staff Share Posted January 7, 2022 Hi @K45P3R, Did the advice from @Ron P.help you get Affinity working? Best thing to try on Windows is disable Hardware Acceleration in Affinity as Ron P. mention and see if you still get a crash. If that doesn't resolve it, please post your crash reports and i can help further.
