But when you compress a video that captures a large screen into a small screen, some pixels are lost and readability is lost. I was just wondering how much the difference would be for the OP if the YT video was viewed at the highest available pixel resolution, which I assume would be 1080p HD. I'm also not sure which YT videos the OP is viewing, or if the official Affinity ones are available to the OP, like those at https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/publisher/desktop/. Many (if not all) of those are available at even higher video resolutions like 4K UHDTV (3840 x 2160 pixels), so they should be a good fit for whatever the resolution of the small screen is set to use. They are for me on my Mac using the Safari web browser, but I do not know if that would be true for @chasm using whatever 'older version of Firefox' is being used on that 15" laptop. If it's native screen resolution is 2560x1440 then I think the text should be sharp enough to be readable if the 2K setting is used. It might help if we knew the screen specs for that laptop, or if anything is better if some other browser could be used with it. Otherwise, I am out of ideas. chasm
Trying to catch up with the much appreciated posts. The Official Affinity videos are where I started but the text on screen is tiny. I shared that link with a friend who connected his laptop to a 31" screen and the text appears tiny to him also, as seen below here. I'm not on a Mac but a PC running Windows 10. Thanks. Could you post a screenshot for one of these videos showing the entire screen of your 15" computer, & also tell us which video that is? It is very hard to tell anything from that screenshot unless somehow it is already showing all of the screen. Alfred
Drag the grey scrollbar button as far down as it will go. You should then see a control console below the video frame, and clicking on the ‘four arrows’ button will make the video go fullscreen. chasm
As the OP, could we please pivot on this discussion and turn attention to the better still graphics which teach newbies how to use Apub with graphics in large size so you can easily see the words and the icons to be used for various tasks? I'm trying to roadmap which skills to master first to reach my goal of creating visually engaging flyers to attract people's attention. I've learned I should master Master Pages - Text Frames - Text Styles, Paragraph and Character Styles so if you can pls share how I can download and print PDFs of still graphics of how to master those skills that would be appreciated. I can see the Affinity Publisher serif videos better at a work PC (22" screen) with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 but my laptop does not offer that high a resolution. Thank you for all your kind help!
