FrankieMac
I have Avenir on my PC already and can access it other applications (Word), but it's not available from Affinity Publisher. Any ideas how I can get it imported into Affinity?
Komatös
Hello @FrankieMac and welcome to the forums. Maybe the font is in th variable font format. This format is not yet supported by the Affinity programmes. I have friends who use Avenir on Affinity so there must be a way. Thanks for your response.

On Windows 11 with Office 365 the Avenir Next LT Pro fonts are cloud fonts. And the hidden cloud fonts only appear in Office apps. But you can install them for "All Users" and they will be available in APub. First, make sure you have downloaded all of the cloud fonts. Make a Word doc with all four weights and italics for each. Sometimes the fonts do not download immediately (like they are supposed to). Save the Word doc, and close Word. Reopen Word, and the document (the fonts will update, maybe as you watch). There should be eight font files in the CloudFonts Avenir folder. Find the cloud fonts here: C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FontCache\4\CloudFonts\Avenir Next LT Pro NAME = your Windows user name. Right-click on the eight font files and then select Install for All Users. On Win11 with Explorer you may have to first select Show more options to see this option. I used XYplorer and it worked fine. I am sure the 7-Zip file explorer would also work. This installs the fonts in the normal C:\Windows\Fonts folder. You can see those numbered file names are now there. Now if you go the the Windows 11 Fonts manager you will see Avenir Next LT Pro. And the fonts should now be available to APub and other apps. I would rename or delete that Avenir cloud font folder (after backup). This should avoid any OS confusion. M365 will not download cloud fonts for any fonts that are already installed. Your friends may have installed the full font family and have more weights. The full Avenir Next LT Pro family has 16 normal width styles, and 16 condensed styles. (some of which APub does not handle correctly) Also, if your friends are on a Mac it installs a family simply called Avenir Next (with 12 styles). But those are purposely damaged so they do not work in Windows apps (so don't try).
