Seizmic
I imported an CS5 .idml document and *essentially* everything was perfect except there are some light gray boxes that appeared behind the text boxes that I can't seem to find to get rid of. Anyone else experienced this?

Could you upload the IDML? Or perhaps the text frame has a fill. Check this in the Text Frame panel. Old Bruce
It is a Decoration on the Paragraph Header Paragraph Style. There is a grey stroke applied to the Bottom Line decoration. R C-R
Is it possible you are talking about the Column Guides that can be switched off in View > Show Column Guides? In the Guides Manager (also available in the View menu) it looks like the color for the column guides is set to black, which I guess by design is not fully opaque, so these guides look grey. Anyway, if you untick Show column guides do you get what you want? SteveKimpton
Is this what you mean? I didn't import anything but I did copy the text frame from another page. If I close up the frame, the rectangle disappears but this can't be the right solution. I can't see another way to get rid of it.
Old Bruce
That could be a pinned item. Could be a decoration. Could be something else. Would need to see the document, just make a simple one page file with that text frame & text in it and post it here. Not sure how you managed to apply it. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear. SteveKimpton
Yes - Thanks for that. Also easy to delete it as soon as you can see that there is something (or nothing!) to delete at the end of the previous line. I have never deliberately named a paragraph style so I have no idea why it should be called Box.
