chasm Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Affinity looks wonderful. I've only used MS Publisher but have purchased Affinity Publisher and Photo. MS Publisher didn't require a separate graphics card and could run on as little as 2 GB RAM. I've got a couple of laptops we're considering loading Affinity Publisher on. It seems from this FAQ you can't run Affinity on a PC which doesn't have a separate graphics card, is that correct? Onboard VRAM won't be enough? Will an iCore 5 CPU be enough? Or will I need at least an iCore 7? Will 8GB RAM be enough? Naturally, 16GB is always better. Thank you!

Onboard VRAM won't be enough? No, that’s incorrect. All of the Affinity apps support onboard graphics. 17 minutes ago, chasm said: Will an iCore 5 CPU be enough? Or will I need at least an iCore 7? A Core i3 is enough, but an i5 or an i7 (or an i9!) is obviously better. 19 minutes ago, chasm said: Will 8GB RAM be enough? Naturally, 16GB is always better. In theory 4GB is sufficient, but for anything other than the simplest projects your computer will probably struggle if it doesn’t have at least 8GB RAM installed. Staff Pauls Posted December 20, 2021 Staff Posted December 20, 2021 so long as the graphics chip (internal or seperate) supports Direct3D level 12.0 you'll be good to go.
