Procedural texture filter in CMYK

Recommended Posts

Hi,

it is not possible to access the K channel in CMYK color mode.

When you try to use K as variable within the formula, the filter stops working.

All other channels work as expected (C, M, Y, A)

The test file has 4 formulas. Only one of these should be activated at a time (on alpha channel). If you activate the formula containing K, it does not work.
I tried all capital letters, only CMYA work.

K active: does not work

limit workaround:

use a channel mixer to remap K to any other channel except A. Unfortunately does not help when you need access to all 4 channels. A channel not usable as workaround, as A=0 overwrites all other channels with 0.

My posts focus on technical aspects and leave out most of social grease like „maybe“, „in my opinion“, „I might be wrong“ etc. just add copy/paste all these softeners from this signature to make reading more comfortable for you. Otherwise I’m a fine person which respects you and everyone and wants to be respected.
