TXMacBob
I cannot figure out how to make a JPG background transparent. I'm sure this is just as easy as with Photoshop, but I don't see how yet. Help!
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. JPG files don't support background transparency. You could use PNG or TIFF instead, which do support that. You can set your document to have transparency when you create it in Photo, using the Transparent Background check-box in the File > New dialog. Or after it's created, you can use Document > Transparent Background in Photo to enable the option. TXMacBob
I forgot to mention that I'm on a Mac. So if I open the Tiff file on my iMac, do I need to select the area I want to be transparent or will the Affinity Photo automatically identify the background? If you want to add transprency to an existing image, you'll need to select the area and delete those pixels. Someone might have a more complete answer if you could provide a sample image.
