Parts of background changes opacity on zoom

Recommended Posts

I have this drawing that I am as a background and it is set to 30% opacity.

I have another drawing on top of that layer. When I view at different zoom levels there is an area in the lower area that
seems to be less opaque and the area changes.

Note the area under truck and just behind the cab, in a square, is darker.

At a different zoom the area changes to the area of the frame above the bed of the truck.

At any zoom level if I uncheck the truck layer the dark area disappears. If I export to jpg it doesn't show up. If I print directly
from the afdesign file it does.

Could just be a redraw problem with the hardware. I don't know of any easy fix. You could try turning off Hardware acceleration in the preferences.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.2
Affinity Designer 2.3.1 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hi somewhereinusa,

As Old Bruce mentioned this is likely a redraw issue. To test this you could go into the apps preferences and under performance you can set the view quality to Nearest Neighbour you should find the issue doesn't happen as often with this setting but the canvas may be being drawn at a slightly lower quality.

Thanks
C
