Thomas M. Braun
Hi folks, when I export a graphic into EPS format and place the resulting EPS next to the original graphic, we can see that the resulting EPS frame is somewhat bigger at the top and to the right than the original frame of the graphic. (see screenshot). This makes it difficult to place the graphic exactly, or to transform it to the exact size you need it in, precisely. Does anyone know why this is the case? Thanks a lot. v_kyr
Hmm, can't reproduce that with an export (just the selection) as EPS here under MacOS El Capitan ... ... even if I zoom in to a huge amount it always looks Ok to me in my sample. - How did you created the graphic and how did you exported as EPS (with what export settings)? LondonSquirrel
Actually I do see a difference. I created a 80mm square and the text is converted to curves. Exporting only the selection to EPS, then bringing it back in I see top and right a small amount of space. The EPS placed itself as 80.1mm x 80.1mm, but it doesn't matter if I set it to 80mm - the space is still there. I've attached the document if anyone is interested. eps-size-thing.zip

Just guessing, but if you change the document units to px, nothing is pixel aligned in the .afdesign file -- X,Y, W, & H values are all include fractional pixels. So do you think this may have something to do with the increased size of the export? I'm not disputing what you wrote - I don't know, so it a question and not a snarky comment dressed up as a question. Here's the thing: If I have a document set to use mm, and I create a box of 80mm square, I expect to be able to bring that back in as 80mm and not 80.1mm with an extra little bit of space. If I export the same thing to PDF and bring it back it in, it is indeed 80mm with no extra space.

Selecting the embedded layer and pressing 1x cursor right and 1x cursor up should adjust it correctly. - The same applies for the one the OP showed! LondonSquirrel
I just exported an EPS from LibreOffice - a 40mm square. It places as 39.9mm in AD, however on resizing to 40mm it is correct with no extra or missing space.
