Issues with Affinity Publisher hangs in print routine with Monterey

Recommended Posts

My version of Affinity Publisher 1.10.4 running under macOS  Monterey 12.0.1 hangs when using the the print function, usually when trying to use the PDF option.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I Force Quit the application and send the resulting dump to apple. Does any from affinity.serif monitor these dumps coming back from apple as its been weeks now and is very consistent. Approx. 1 in 3 times when trying to print to pdf.

Hi stokerg,

Thanks for your response.

I too can manage to print to pdf most times. When I am working on a publication I may just hit print and preview to check out the format. The boom it hangs. Not always. The Apple debug logs can attest to the number of occurrences as I always "send to apple". It can be anywhere within the print dialog, for example changing a setting like portrait to landscape and it hangs. It can be trying to "save to pdf", or changing the page layout. I haven't tried to export to pdf because most times it just works. I also use the print and "view as pdf" to gauge what the resultant print looks like. Especially useful when creating booklets etc.

I have an idea on what may be the cause but I haven't been able to prove my theory. (not related to affinity). its a bit of a long shot. I was hoping the apple crash reports would shed light on the problem.

Thanks again
