I thought right at the outset that it would be Van Gogh's Starry Night - surely I wasn't right???

Yes, that is the painting upon which I based the pastiche.

Very Peri night.

Well done.

Though the name of the painting has 'Starry' only once, the song has it twice.

The

Very Peri

made me think of

Starry, Starry

No, as I was unaware of that artwork.

Yet it is amazingly similar though. Wow!

Thank you for posting the link.

I may be wrong, but I think that Don McLean's song is actually called 'Vincent'.

As noted in the Wikipedia article, there is a version of ‘Vincent’ on the 2001 live album Starry, Starry Night.

Going a bit (lots?) off-topic, here is a link to an old thread that started off with pastiches of famous paintings, but went off-topic, yet in an interestimg way.

How did you create the swirl? It doesn’t look like something you could easily do in any of the Affinity apps.

PagePus X7 has 40 Quickshapes.

Affinity Desgner, notwithstanding not usimg the name Quickshapes, seems to have only 21.

Does anyone know why please?

The set of 21 does not appear to be a subset of the set of 40.

It doesn’t appear to be, because it isn’t! There’s a larger set of QuickShapes but the Affinity shapes are generally more adjustable, and the latter also allow for symmetry or right angles to be easily achieved.
