Scoot
I exported a file in IDML format to use in Publisher. When I opened it everything seemed to be in place, but unfortunately I can't find a window with the links of the pictures or illustrations that are within the document like I can in InDesign. I'm rather anxious to switch, but this is a big issue for me that needs to be solved.

Scoot
Thanks, that's helpful but unfortunately it's a separate window and can't be put in as a tab on the right side with Layers, Paragraph Styles, Colors, Swatches, etc.

But is it really the best solution? I've often felt it was too constrained in that small space. Publisher's Resource Manager is spacious, can show a clear preview, and information on the selected resource is extensive. I wonder if this isn't a better solution than the one we know from Adobe. Paolo You do know one can select other options for the links panel in ID, right? And that it can be "torn off" and freely placed? And of course you know that there are 20-30 or more pieces of information that can be added to the links panel? And the APub links panel? Cannot size down more than as shown, cannot add/remove information, cannot be "docked" to have it handy. I'll take ID's link panel any day. Paolo Yes, that's true. Foolish me. I was just making ID display it more or less as APub. The panel section could be enlarged when docked. But as it can fly out when invoked, it's still more useful to me. Pity that APub's cannot be tabbed if desired. It's giant because of it's horizontal layout. Which means all that information is hidden during operation. Unless one has a second monitor. But hey, if you like APub's better, more power to you. Unless one has a second monitor. Even then this window my need improvements to avoid waste of screen space, e.g. by combining the informations of the columns "Status" and "Placemnt" in on common column or by reducing the left margin in the details section to avoid cropped info like longer dimensions or profil names. Also the odd behaviour of a enlarged "Type" column (instead of the "Name" column) when widening the window. It reminds me to an older list of possible improvements … Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 only
