Toronto Bill Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 My iMac's internal HDD is too slow, so I have attached an external SSD and put my Mac OS on that. Much faster ... but now how do I get my Affinity Photo app properly registered to run in this new environment? I am still using the same iMac and only want to run one copy of Affinity Photo. Is there some way I should deauthorize the copy on my old HDD so that I can run my copy on the SDD? I do not see my product key, either on the old HDD or the new SSD. I have logged into my account, but only see how to start the app in Trial mode. Quote
Komatös Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 To the first question: I don't know anything about the iMacs, but in a German forum that's exactly what was asked. The answer was to simply move the programme folder to the external drive. If the programme then does not start, simply move it back. The second question: If you bought Affinity Photo in the Apple Store, you have to log in to Apple with the account you used to buy the programme. OI assume you mean that you have set the Startup Disk system preference to use the SSD on startup of your Mac. If so, & you bought AP from the Mac App Store, just sign into the App Store app after starting up your Mac from the SSD using your Apple ID, & you should be able to install AP from there. Toronto Bill Posted December 3, 2021 Author Posted December 3, 2021 Thank you! Yes, you are correct. SSD as start up disk. I followed your advice and I'm good to go. Old Bruce 1 Quote
