Please add edge grabbing to the perspective tool

Recommended Posts

You can only grab the corners of the border that appears with the perspective tool. Sometimes, I'd like to grab the edges too to move an entire side.

Procreate on the iPad did this very well with the distort tool. Affinity should take som inspiration from that, because right now, the perspective tool is a bit cumbersome to use.

Have you tried using the Mesh Warp Tool instead? (Unlike the Perspective Tool you can select more than one node at once.)

Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz :  32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 : Windows 10 Home
Affinity Publisher 2 : Affinity Photo 2 : Affinity Designer 2 : (latest release versions) on desktop and iPad

I can't easily make the boundaries in that tool straight/linear, so if you have a quick method for that I'm interested.

Do you have a before and after example of what you are looking to do?

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

I can’t see the GIF properly because a ‘cookie permissions pop-up’ is blocking most if the browser window, and I don’t wish to have imgur.com cookies on my machine if I can help it.
Did you know that you can attach GIFs directly to your forum posts, just as you would attach most other image files?

Oher than that, from the little of what I can see of the GIF, you are ‘bending’ one side of the selected area and that isn’t what the Perspective Tool is for.
The Perspective Tool has been designed to allow the user to change the perspective of an image and perspective doesn’t ‘bend’, it goes in straight lines.
Maybe I haven’t been able to understand what you want properly because I can’t see the GIF properly.
