Hi,

In Affinity Designer when you use the pen tool, you can use Texture Line Style (in the stroke options) and take any brushes and draw with it.

That not works with Affinity Photo is that normal ?

Thanks

Hi @Claude_ch,
Yes, Designer has two different brush engines (one path/vector based) in Designer Persona (which is the one you are talking about), and another raster based in Pixel Persona (which is the one also available in Affinity Photo). Only Designer have path/vector based brushes. Although both apps share a few   features, overall, vector based tools are more limited in Affinity Photo since it's photo editing app.

Thank you for the answer, it's very confusing seeing the Texture Line Style in the option and nothing happen when you chose it in Affinity Photo for the Pen Tool.

It's maybe better remove this option in the future or making working like in Affinity Designer.

You can Open a Designer file in Photo, so it is at least necessary to display that option. It does seem confusing to allow that option to be turned on by a Photo user, though.

That's why I thought it was a bug. To use this effect, I'll open the photo file in Designer and when it's finished, I'll come back to Photo with this file.
