Similarly?! I may not understand you correctly, but for me they are completely different - different icon content and completely different icon color!

I think OP means the size of the icons. And if I my eyes don't lie, all three are different in size.

But why would anyone require different icon sizes for each application?

I can only answer this question with an extract from a Bob Dylan song!

yes, different colours would be better, anything to differentiate them, sorry, after 12 hrs on the computer, with all 3 apps open(among tons of others) i find myself dropping on, or clicking the wrong icon. Ok, maybe my Anomalous Trichromacy is making me blind to the colour difference. But cmon, 3 apps, 3 different uses, and need quick decider, not thinking or looking at details in the icon. Have some fun but make them look different, please!  red/green/blue? anything...

They definitely have different colors already. Pink (Photo), Blue (Designer), Orange (Publisher).

To be quite honest I don't really care what the icons look like, I would have thought there were much more important things to worry about. 😉

Having said that, (at least to me)the three app icons have quite different designs (although in a similar style, which makes sense) and completely different colours.

Since you probably have very specific requirements, I recommend creating custom icons that will suit you perfectly. Changing icons for both OS has been addressed many times on the forum.

I think this might be the problem. I have the same thing. After too many hours without rest, things can blur and blend. I find it's not a good idea for my work, and therefore my clients, to not be fully aware. It suffers and makes me frustrated.

and sure, I can change the icons by myself, thought this was a forum for suggesting improvements.. i spoke with a few friends who have the same issue..

Just curious as to how you would change the designs? As I said "just curious" don't spend any real time working on a design for me.

I think that Designer looks like a Pencil tip and Photo looks like a lens Iris. Not similar at all. Is this a colour perception thing?

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

My perception is probably affected by familiarity with the Serif PhotoPlus icons, but the Affinity Photo icon looks more purple than pink to me.

Agreed. I never figured out what the APub icon represented.

For me and the way my powerful brain works... Going from bottom left to upper right it is a Book Cover, page, page, page and Book Cover.

It's probably not the best icon if it needs an explanation.
