Jumping Selection

Recommended Posts

In AD Pixel persona, every time I make a marquee selection (for all docs, including new) when I take my finger off to complete selection, the marquee jumps up and to the left (see screenshot for example).

  •    operating system and version Windows 10
  •    hardware acceleration (in Preferences > Performance) ON or OFF ? Default (a search doesn't show any Preferences. I'm clearly looking in the wrong place.
  •    What happened for you. I expected the marquee selection area in Pixel Persona to remain where I put it, but when I removed my finger the target area jumps up and to the left.
  •    Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). Use marquee tool in Pixel Persona and select an object/area. Remove finger. Voila! Selection jumps.
  •    Screenshots See below (default grid added to show the amount of movement)
  •    Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers. No.
  •    Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? (software or hardware). Have just recently begun using AD.

Unfortunately, because you have only given us a partial screenshot, a lot of useful information is unavailable to us.
Can you give us a full-screen screenshot while you are using the tool, with the Transform Panel open? (Make sure that the Context Toolbar is also showing, menu “View → Show Context Toolbar”.)
That will tell us, amongst other things, which “marquee” tool you are using, what the document UOM is, the dimensions of the selection, what your tool settings are.

Note: To get information about Preferences, try searching the Help for “preferences” (without the quotes).

Has this problem been solved? I am finding the same thing on Mac today.

No. And it does apply to both OSes.

You can add the Ipad version to this as well now.

Same problem started happening on my Ipad a few months ago and I am unable to use selections now.
After releasing the pen from the screen to finalize a selection I have made, the entire selection area simply jumps upwards and left (by a lot).

If you're in Designer, have you set a Bleed for your document?

If so, you may need to set it to 0, just as on the desktop apps.
