Is anyone else having problems with the Select Sampled Colour Tool for Aff. Photo on iPad?

I’ve tried it on different layers, but no matter what I do it’s simply not responding

I’m in the selection persona, I choose the layer I want, select the tool and tap the screen on the colour I need but nothing happens.

I’ve used the apple pen, I’ve used my finger and I’ve cranked the tolerance right up but no matter what I do, I get no marching ants whatsoever.

is this a bug or am I just an idiot.

please help

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The tool only works on pixel layers.

Please check the layer type. If it says “image”, you need to convert it to pixel by merge visible or rasterize.

Awesome, many thanks. I knew it was me all along. Another feather in my cap

No worries. This is a trap for new users or those switching from other apps, unaware of this very Affinity specific “feature”. Let us know if you come across one of the others, pleasure to support you. Besides some UI quirks, Affinity is a fine piece of software.
