brush tool not working with masking

I can't use my brush tool for my masking tool, but if I use a selection tool and mask it, it works. How can I fix it?

Can you explain what you are trying to do in more detail please?

Full-screen screenshots are usually helpful so we can see what you can see. Annotated screenshots are better.
Videos are often more helpful than screenshots, if you can make them.

If you can’t create screenshots or videos then you will need to explain to us exactly what you have, and what you are trying to do, and give us a step-by-step account of what you are doing to try and achieve that.

Welcome to this forum.

I think the problem will be with the Alpha Protect option,
uncheck the Protect Alpha option, then the masking with the brush tool should work as usual.

Hi @leo vina,
Click the ">>" symbol on the right edge of the context toolbar (when the Paint Brush Tool is selected) to display the rest of commands/options that do not fit on screen. The Protect Alpha option should be there.
