PaoloT Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Hi, More than simple lines and boxes, I like to highlight a heading (section title) with a graphic background. For example, a long brush stroke crossing the full width of the page: Maybe this can be implemented in the paragraph style editor, in a future version? Paolo RickyO and garrettm30 2 Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 If you have such a graphic from somewhere, even another application, you can easily add it to a page using File > Place. If you want to draw such a graphic, you can already do that if you own Photo or Designer, using the brushes that are available in the Photo or Designer Persona. If you don't have Photo or Designer available, and thus do not have their Personas available in Publisher, I think what you're really asking for is for Publisher to have its own brushes. Placing this type of decoration under a paragraph once or a few times in a short publication is not a major problem – apart for having to realign everything in case some text is added or removed, and all the elements are reflown. Having it as a decoration for a recurring structural element, like a heading, in a long publication (think to a magazine or a manual) implies much more work. So much, I would say, to make it impossible in a typical tight deadline. Having it as a design element of a paragraph style would let one import the decoration once, and let Publisher automatically add it to all the paragraphs with that particular style. Paolo EDIT: I see I didn't give enough elements to make my request clear. I've just tried to add them. RickyO and Tazintosh 2 Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Thank you for that clarification. So, more of a kind of decoration like the Paragraph panel offers. Yes, that would be useful. garrettm30 Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Yes, something like this would be a good extension of the paragraph decoration concept. RickyO 1 Quote
