How do I create a name with an umlaut above the "o"?  I have done this in Word and then copied it over, but the "o" with umlaut does not then follow the changes in characteristics applied to the text.  So how do I does this in Affinity?  Thank you.

You may need a font(s) with the umlaut.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Arial definitely has umlaute. Probably the Glyphs panel in Affinity will show them.

Do you ask how to type it on a keyboard without umlaut? In macOS (can't tell about Windows) if you press-hold the o key then an options dialog pops up offering various characters, either click on one or type the number given below to type the character. This also works to modify an existing character if it gets selected before press-holding its key again.

Sadly that doesn't seem to work in Windows, but the Glyph Browser was what I needed.  Thank you for trying.

If your keyboard has a separate numeric keypad you can use the appropriate ‘Alt’ sequence:

Alt+0214 -> Ö

Alt+0246 -> ö

Alternatively, you can visit a web page that displays these characters for copying and pasting. My ‘go to’ site for this is TypeIt.org.
