Hi good day

After the update to 1.10.4 my AFP always closing without any prompt of errors, it always close,  i have a lot of projects to work

last night i decide to install lower version just to solve this issue, but then when i opening my projects it says its not compatible with lower version,

im using

ASUS TUFF Gaming laptop

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz   2.21 GHz

16.0 GB RAM

Geforce GTX invidia

Windows OS

is there any solution for this ?

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

Sorry to hear you're having trouble! I can recommend the following:

  1. Make sure your NVidia GPU driver is fully up to date, directly from NVidias Website - as outdated GPU drivers can cause unexpected crashing.
  2. Open the Affinity app and navigate to Edit > Preferences > Performance - at the bottom of this dialog, please untick Hardware Acceleration and then restart the app as prompted.

Having made these changes, does this reduce the crashing behaviour you're experiencing currently?

Hi, I was experiencing the same crashes. It would close immediately after attempting to open any image. Your solution helped, but does it now mean that affinity's performance is lower without HW acceleration?

Yes, for some operations, but it should be the same speed as it was in 1.8, before Serif provided the OpenCL support in 1.9.

Thank you i will do this and observe my affinity photo.

BTW my GPU : NVIDIA GeForce GTX1060
